We had a waiter at Mon Ami today who mentioned to a table next to us that this was his first week. He was taking forever with everything and forgetting stuff constantly. He was very stressed and kept apologizing. But luckily Kevin and I have both been in the restaurant business and know how it feels to be in his position. Poor guy.
P.S. I asked for the ketchup four times. : )

me: i think i need to go away on one of those cliche self- discovery journeys. i kind of want to bail from the world, take elle and all of my cute summer clothes and move to hawaii for a year, bartending on the beach.
mama: i think you need to look at how great your life is, embrace what you have, refuse to run away from your potential, and realize that everything you need in order to discover what you are looking for is somewhere already within you.
Your mum couldn't have said it better. We really do often have the "grass is greener" mentality but all it takes is looking at how blessed we really are.
